Why AssemblyAI
AssemblyAI builds the best-in-class Voice AI models powering the next generation of voice applications. Our models serve 600M+ inference calls monthly, process 1M+ hours of audio daily, and power 2 billion+ end-user experiences. The Voice AI space is at an inflection point; we’re looking for folks truly excited to join a small team and help define the future of the industry.
We are one of the most capital-efficient AI companies on the planet - with under 100 people generating roughly $600K ARR per employee, we sit among the top 5 most revenue-dense teams within the fastest-growing AI companies today. That's not an accident; it's a deliberate choice to stay lean, move fast, and give every person on the team outsized ownership and impact. With thousands of customers including Granola, Fireflies, Figure AI, and CallRail, the company has real scale - processing over 2 million hours of audio daily and handling more than 1 million API calls every day. This is a rare growth-stage opportunity where the business is proven and the trajectory is steep, but the team is still small enough that your fingerprints are on everything.
If you've ever felt buried under layers of bureaucracy, starved of real ownership, or frustrated watching your work disappear into a slow-moving org, AssemblyAI is built differently. The company operates as a true meritocracy, with no heavy planning or approval processes and no gatekeeping on the tools or information you need. For anyone who genuinely cares about voice AI, not as a trend to chase, but as a technology to build, this is the place where the most interesting problems at the most interesting scale are being solved by a team small enough that you'll actually know everyone's name.
We’re committed to creating a space where our employees can bring their full selves to work and have equal opportunity to succeed. No matter your race, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, religion, origin, ability, age, veteran status, if joining this mission speaks to you, we encourage you to apply!
About the role:
We're looking for a Head of GTM to build and lead AssemblyAI's go-to-market business across Europe. You'll own the region end to end: revenue, pipeline, and the Sales, Applied AI, and Forward Deployed Engineering teams that turn technical wins into production usage across our Voice AI models, Voice Agent API, and LLM Gateway.
Europe is already one of our fastest growing regions. European calling platforms, contact center software, and voice agent companies are moving production workloads onto AssemblyAI’s voice models for multilingual accuracy, often replacing incumbents or self-hosted models after head-to-head evals. Today it's a small, high-performing footprint covered largely from the US. You will be the first senior leader on the ground and turn it into a full regional operation: set the strategy, hire the team, win the right accounts, and become the senior face of AssemblyAI for customers and the European AI community.
This is a builder's role, not a caretaker's. You'll carry the region's most strategic deals yourself early on, then hire and lead the team that scales it. You'll report to the VP of Customer Solutions and work in lockstep with our US GTM leaders and with Research, Engineering, Product, Marketing, Legal, and Finance, so that EMEA runs on the same technical, product-led, evaluation-driven motion that wins for us today.
What You'll Do:
Own the EMEA number: new logo revenue, expansion, and usage growth across the region; from first evaluation to production at scale
Set the regional GTM strategy - which countries (UK & Ireland, DACH, France, Benelux, Nordics, Southern Europe, verticals, and segments to prioritize first, the target account tiers, and how coverage evolves as the business grows
Build and lead the European team across Sales, Applied AI Engineers, and Forward Deployed Engineering; hire the first wave of regional talent, set the bar and the ramp plan that make new hires productive in weeks rather than quarters, and develop future leaders
Run an integrated motion where Sales, Applied AI, and FDE work as one team: technical discovery, custom benchmarks, evals, and hands-on deployment that converts wins into compounding usage
Personally lead and close the region's most strategic deals, acting as executive sponsor for key accounts and engaging CTOs, CPOs, founders, and heads of AI directly
Build the operating system for the region: forecasting, pipeline inspection, deal reviews, territory design, and the metrics that show early whether EMEA is on track
Drive an outbound-first culture where pipeline is created, not waited for, and where outreach earns replies through real technical insight
Navigate the region's commercial and regulatory landscape (GDPR, the EU AI Act, data residency, DPAs, and enterprise security reviews) with Legal and Security, so compliance becomes an advantage, not a blocker
Make AssemblyAI the name European builders think of for voice AI: represent us at conferences, meetups, and community events, and partner with Marketing on regional demand
Bring the European voice of the customer to Product, Research, and the leadership team - which languages, accents, and deployment requirements are winning or losing deals, and what we need to ship next
What You'll Need:
10+ years in technical B2B sales or GTM, with 5+ years leading teams with Europe responsibility
A track record of building a region or segment from an early footprint, ideally for a US-headquartered, venture-backed company: you've hired the first team, opened the first major accounts, and scaled revenue meaningfully, not inherited a mature org
Experience selling APIs, infrastructure, or developer platforms to engineering and product buyers, ideally in a usage-based or consumption model
Technical credibility: comfortable discussing API architectures, model accuracy and latency tradeoffs, multilin
